We are #ROULEURS – riders at heart. The #MONKEYPRORIDER tour concept is all about riding, bends and scenery. We make very few visits to castles, museums or heritage sites... Make sure you can ride about 250 to 300 km a day, several days in a row. Back roads only. Our pace and riding method allow most riders to take part, but too low a riding level could hold the group back and make it difficult to finish the stages in a reasonable time.

A first for me with Monkeyprorider: I rode the Route des Grandes Alpes in August and can only congratulate the organisation – a superb job on the routes, the accommodation and a great atmosphere, and above all a maestro, Thierry, as our guide. A superb experience and surely one of my best trips. (translated from French)

PROGRAMME OF THE CROATIA AND SLOVENIA MOTORCYCLE TOUR
DAY 1 - 0 KM - WELCOME IN VENICE
We meet in the late afternoon at the first accommodation near Venice. The guide advises splitting the journey there into two days, depending on where you live. Tour briefing and drinks to get to know each other.
DAY 2 - APPROX. 271 KM - INTO SLOVENIA
A first section that is mostly a link ride into Slovenia. The landscape has already changed and we head into beautiful countryside. Then come passes and hairpins, climbing higher as we ride deeper into Slovenia. Arrival near Kranj in the late afternoon.
DAY 3 - APPROX. 250 KM - FROM SLOVENIA TO CROATIA
Before leaving Slovenia for the Zagreb region, we ride through countryside with picturesque houses and then low mountains with a few passes. Perfect terrain for riders looking for nature and twisty roads
DAY 4 - APPROX. 266 KM - INLAND CROATIA
We are in the central part of Croatia, inland, on the way towards Split and Dubrovnik. After a fine ride of about 260 km, we stop at an exceptional protected site, where we stay for 2 nights.
DAY 5 - 0 KM - REST DAY, PLITVICE
A day off / rest day – time to put on your trainers. A visit to the Plitvice lakes is a must: an unspoilt gem. We meet again in the evening for dinner.
DAY 6 - APPROX. 185 KM - EAST OF ZADAR
We pass east of Zadar and follow the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. After an easy riding day, we stop for the night north of Split. Patience – we'll ride through it on the way back.
DAY 7 - APPROX. 277 KM - HEADING FOR DUBROVNIK
A great day of riding to reach Dubrovnik. We cross the narrow strip of Croatia that brings us closer to the sea. Arrival at the hotel in the late afternoon
DAY 8 - 0 KM - REST DAY IN DUBROVNIK
Rest / day off to visit Dubrovnik. Time to stroll, visit the harbour or the old town and relax. We meet for dinner at the end of the day.
DAY 9 - APPROX. 125 KM - THE MAGISTRALA
We start on the famous MAGISTRALA, which runs the whole length of Croatia. A beautiful road with good tarmac and, above all, sea views. On to the next stop near Split.
DAY 10 - APPROX. 199 KM - THE MAGISTRALA, ZADAR
A short ride of barely 200 km lets us stop on an island. We continue along the beautiful MAGISTRALA and stop near Zadar.
DAY 11 - APPROX. 266 KM - THE MAGISTRALA, RIJEKA
The last section of the Magistrala, heading for Rijeka. A great day of riding alternating flowing and twisty roads.
DAY 12 - APPROX. 262 KM - BACK TO VENICE
The last stage back to Venice, mostly on flowing roads. If you would like 1 extra day to visit Venice, let us know so we can keep the accommodation for a second night.
DAY 13 - 0 KM - END OF THE TOUR
It's over! A big adventure and eyes full of images. We organise the journey back to France, say our goodbyes and promise to meet next year for a new motorcycle adventure.
Depending on the season, hotel availability or the number of people registered (and their riding level), some constraints may require the guide to change the routes and/or overnight stops. The guide alone decides what is needed to keep to the timing, make the most of the planned stops and ensure the overall comfort of the group. These changes cannot be disputed.

PREPARING YOUR MOTORCYCLE TOUR OF SLOVENIA AND CROATIA: THE GUIDE'S TIPS
The lakes and mountains of Slovenia, then the Magistrala along the Croatian coast: this motorcycle tour of the Balkans combines bends and postcard scenery. Here is our guide's advice. It complements the briefing your qualified guide gives every morning before setting off.
Beware of the coastal road surface
On some Croatian roads, polished asphalt becomes slippery in hot or damp weather. Avoid sudden braking and excessive lean, especially in shaded bends.
Deal with the wind
On the Croatian coast, the wind can blow hard on bridges and exposed sections. Stay loose on the handlebars and slow down in open areas.
Check your papers
The tour crosses Italy, Slovenia and Croatia: ID, the motorcycle's registration document and insurance valid in these countries are essential.
