Tailor-made formulas for a VIP group

Like this tour, or interested in another destination? Contact us: we can organise your trip and guide you to the destination of your choice. Exclusive VIP formula for existing groups of 5 people or more. Contact us for a study of the destination, possible dates and a personalised quotation.

We are #ROULEURS – riders at heart. The #MONKEYPRORIDER tour concept is all about riding, bends and scenery. We make very few visits to castles, museums or heritage sites... Make sure you can ride about 250 to 300 km a day, several days in a row. Back roads only. Our pace and riding method allow most riders to take part, but too low a riding level could hold the group back and make it difficult to finish the stages in a reasonable time.

ALAIN P. ★★★★★ - Google review - 3 June 2026 -

I have taken part in Sunday rides, done 2 three-day trips and 1 one-week tour. Every time everything went well: a good atmosphere, friendliness and the joy of riding all together, safely. Don't hesitate, come along, you won't be disappointed. (translated from French)

MICHEL B. ★★★★★ - Google review - 10 September 2025 -

A first for me with Monkeyprorider: I rode the Route des Grandes Alpes in August and can only congratulate the organisation – a superb job on the routes, the accommodation and a great atmosphere, and above all a maestro, Thierry, as our guide. A superb experience and surely one of my best trips. (translated from French)

ANDRÉ M. ★★★★★ - Google review - 12 August 2025 -

A great group with fabulous organisation, whether for Sunday rides, weekend rides or even tours.
I've just ridden the RGA, the Route des Grandes Alpes. With a small group, a great atmosphere and good company. Our organiser and guide Thierry did flawless work. Everything was perfect. Don't hesitate to go on these tours. You can't be disappointed.
I'm going again as soon as I can. (translated from French)

KARINE B. ★★★★★ - Google review - 18 May 2025 -

These 7 days in Corsica organised by Thierry were a superb experience for me. I had already done 3-day road trips with the Monkeys and felt confident.
Our small group of riders from different backgrounds rode in unison. We all made progress.
We discovered wonderful landscapes, and the organisation was top-notch. Rooms, meals, picnics... We were spoilt by the weather and enjoyed local dishes. Top for me!! (translated from French)

JEAN L. ★★★★★ - Google review - 16 October 2025 -

A great trip, top-notch organisation and our guide Thierry was exceptional – he does everything to make it an unforgettable trip. No hesitation, go with MONKEYPRORIDER. (translated from French)

PROGRAMME OF THE PORTUGAL MOTORCYCLE TOUR

LINK RIDE - OPTIONAL 5 EXTRA DAYS - APPROX. 1,200 KM

We meet 5 days earlier for extra riding across Spain to reach the meeting point with the tour group. The welcome takes place near Bayonne (direct motorway access). We cross the Basque Country, then follow the whole northern Spanish coast. Many little-known spots will amaze us during this pre-tour. This Atlantic coastal region is very steep and wild. We will of course make forays onto low mountain roads, alternating twisty sections and views. A start to the trip for big-mileage riders, as the whole journey will be long, with lots of kilometres.

.

DAY 1 - 0 KM - WELCOME IN VIGO

We meet near Vigo (Spain) in the evening. Easy access by motorway from France. We get to know the group and hold a short briefing on the week.

DAY 2 - APPROX. 300 KM - PENEDA-GERÊS NATIONAL PARK

We start with a great riding day across the Peneda-Gerês National Park, on mountain roads, through forests and isolated granite villages. Arrival in Porto at the end of the day.

DAY 3 - APPROX. 220 KM - PORTO

An early start to make the most of a half-day of sightseeing. There is plenty to see in Porto: the Ribeira and the Dom Luís bridge are the historic heart and soul of the city; the Livraria Lello and the Torre dos Clérigos (76 metres of steps to climb) for a 360° view. We meet again in the early afternoon for a short ride to Nazaré.

DAY 4 - APPROX. 230 KM - THE COAST TO LISBON

A great seafront stage taking us to Lisbon. We will of course stop at a few must-see "ocean view" spots to feast our eyes. A detour onto the peninsulas and a stop at the Boca do Inferno ("Mouth of Hell"). Arrival in Lisbon at the end of the day.

DAY 5 - APPROX. 270 KM - HEADING SOUTH, RURAL PORTUGAL

This stage takes us further south. We leave the coast for roads through deep, more rural Portugal – a chance to keep discovering the different regional architecture and landscapes. We leave the Beja district for the Faro district. Some mountain roads and twisty sections with beautiful views await us at the end of the day.

DAY 6 - APPROX. 270 KM - SERRA DE MONCHIQUE

This stage starts strong with one of the finest viewpoints in the south: the Miradouro da Fóia (summit of the Serra de Monchique). We then head north again, deep inland, following the Spanish border – a chance to cross the Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana.

DAY 7 - APPROX. 280 KM - MONSARAZ AND LAKE ALQUEVA

We leave the Beja district for the Évora district. We pass through Monsaraz, a fortified medieval village perched on a hill above Lake Alqueva. Then full throttle towards the Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede. We pass close to a few iconic castles. A day of mostly flowing roads.

DAY 8 - APPROX. 230 KM - SERRA DA LOUSÃ AND SERRA DA ESTRELA

A great day of riding ahead, with twisty roads, hairpins and magnificent scenery. We cross the summit of the Serra da Lousã and head east to the Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela. Valleys, scenery, twisty roads… thrill-seeking riders will be well served.

DAY 9 - APPROX. 250 KM - THE DOURO VALLEY

The stage everyone looks forward to and travellers love: the Douro valley!! One of the finest places to ride a motorcycle. Beyond the twisty roads and excellent tarmac, it is the scenery that amazes. We ride the whole length of the valley, arriving in the late afternoon at the edge of the Braga district

DAY 10 - APPROX. 224 KM - BRAGA AND BACK TO SPAIN

The last stage takes us as far north as possible in Portugal, enjoying the twisty roads. We cross the Braga district before entering Spain. The second, more flowing part takes us back to the Vigo area in Spain.

DAY 11 - 0 KM - END OF THE TOUR

A last breakfast and we say goodbye. See you soon for the next tour.

Depending on the season, hotel availability or the number of people registered (and their riding level), some constraints may require the guide to change the routes and/or overnight stops. The guide alone decides what is needed to keep to the timing, make the most of the planned stops and ensure the overall comfort of the group. These changes cannot be disputed.

PREPARING YOUR MOTORCYCLE TOUR OF PORTUGAL: THE GUIDE'S TIPS

From the Atlantic Ocean to the Douro valley, Portugal by motorcycle offers varied roads and still-unspoilt landscapes. Here is our advice for preparing this nature motorcycle road trip. It complements the briefing your qualified guide gives every morning before setting off.

Adapt your riding to the road surface

Portugal alternates superb mountain roads and more worn sections, with cobbles in the villages. On cobbles, especially when wet, ride upright and smoothly and avoid hard braking.

Anticipate coastal wind

Along the Atlantic, gusts can be strong. Stay relaxed on the handlebars, grip the tank with your knees and let the motorcycle move slightly rather than fighting it.

Check your papers and insurance

The tour crosses Spain and Portugal: ID, the motorcycle's registration document and insurance valid in both countries are essential.
