We are #ROULEURS – riders at heart. The #MONKEYPRORIDER tour concept is all about riding, bends and scenery. We make very few visits to castles, museums or heritage sites... Make sure you can ride about 250 to 300 km a day, several days in a row. Back roads only. Our pace and riding method allow most riders to take part, but too low a riding level could hold the group back and make it difficult to finish the stages in a reasonable time.

A first for me with Monkeyprorider: I rode the Route des Grandes Alpes in August and can only congratulate the organisation – a superb job on the routes, the accommodation and a great atmosphere, and above all a maestro, Thierry, as our guide. A superb experience and surely one of my best trips. (translated from French)

PROGRAMME OF THE SARDINIA MOTORCYCLE TOUR
DAY 1 - 0 KM - BOARDING THE FERRY
Participants meet at the ferry terminal to board. The motorcycles are strapped down in the hold / garage and we go to our shared cabins. Free time on board. Everyone brings a picnic or uses the ship's restaurant.
DAY 2 - APPROX. 240 KM - ALGHERO, BOSA, ORISTANO
From the very first kilometres, Sardinia reveals its character: small winding roads, wild terrain and views over a deep blue sea. The route reaches Alghero, then heads for Bosa on spectacular roads before continuing towards the more secret landscapes of the west of the island, as far as the area around Oristano.
A first day that already reveals all the magic of Sardinia: authentic villages, unspoilt nature and above all those roads where every bend makes you want to keep going.
DAY 3 - APPROX. 190 KM - ARBOREA, MONTEVECCHIO, PISCINAS
From Oristano, we quickly leave the main roads for the small roads of the Arborea and gradually head south.
The route then takes us towards Guspini and the old Montevecchio mines, in the heart of a wild, rolling landscape.
Then come the winding roads of the Iglesiente, where the motorcycle comes into its own among hills, forests and open views.
We continue to Piscinas, famous for its huge dunes and almost desert-like scenery.
Finally, the small roads of the south-west lead us to Santadi, in the heart of an authentic, unspoilt Sardinia.
A stage of nearly 190 km where every bend reveals a new face of the island.
DAY 4 - APPROX. 275 KM - BUGGERRU, TEULADA, PULA
From Guspini, we head west on the small roads of the Iglesiente, before reaching the wild coastal landscapes around Portixeddu and Buggerru.
The road becomes more spectacular towards Fluminimaggiore and the mining hills of this authentic Sardinia.
We continue to Iglesias and Carbonia, then south to the area around Teulada, between Mediterranean scrubland, mountains and views over the Mediterranean.
After the south-west, a complete change of atmosphere: the route climbs back towards Pula and the hinterland of Cagliari, before heading into the mountains again.
The last part takes us along the small roads of the Gerrei to Silius, in the heart of a rural, unspoilt Sardinia.
About 275 km of varied roads, between sea, mountains, villages and wide open spaces: a true crossing of the south of the island.
DAY 5 - APPROX. 219 KM - SEUI, OGLIASTRA, JERZU
From Goni, the road gradually climbs towards Seui and Sadali, in the heart of the Sardinian mountains.
Small winding roads then lead us towards Ussassai and the wild terrain of the Ogliastra.
After passing near Perdasdefogu, the route descends towards Tertenia and the landscapes of the east coast.
We then climb back via Jerzu and its magnificent mountain roads, before continuing into the hills of the hinterland.
A succession of bends, valleys and views over the Mediterranean, with very few main roads.
A day of riding in the heart of one of the wildest and most spectacular regions of Sardinia.
DAY 6 - APPROX. 100 KM - BAUNEI, CALA GONONE, OROSEI
From Tortolì, we ride up to Santa Maria Navarrese, then take the winding roads of Baunei, in the heart of the spectacular Supramonte.
Limestone hills and views over the Mediterranean accompany the road to the area around Dorgali.
We then reach Cala Gonone and some of the wildest coastal landscapes in Sardinia.
The road continues to Orosei on magnificent small roads through the hinterland.
A stage of about 100 km, short but intense, focused on landscapes, bends and views.
An immersion in the heart of the Sardinian east coast, between mountains and the Mediterranean.
DAY 7 - APPROX. 290 KM - NUORO, ORGOSOLO, GALLURA
From Orosei, we leave the coast and head deep into the Sardinian mountains on small hinterland roads.
The route passes near Nuoro and Orgosolo, before reaching the high plateaus in the centre of the island.
Time for winding roads, forests and mountain landscapes, with sections above 1,000 metres.
The road then gradually descends towards the more open landscapes of the Gallura.
The last kilometres head towards Olbia, arriving in the Mediterranean atmosphere of north-east Sardinia.
Nearly 290 km for a superb crossing of the island, between mountains, Sardinian villages and great views.
DAY 8 - APPROX. 214 KM - COSTA SMERALDA AND SANTA TERESA GALLURA
A day of pure riding pleasure in the heart of the most spectacular landscapes of northern Sardinia. From San Pantaleo, the route winds between the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo, Palau and Santa Teresa Gallura, before reaching the wild coast and the magnificent views of the north-west.
On the programme: small winding roads, bends, hills and sea views, with the constant feeling of riding through an exceptional Mediterranean setting.
DAY 9 - 0 KM - RETURN BY FERRY
A day devoted to the ferry crossing home. Depending on the ferry company, the crossing may take place during the day, arriving in Toulon around 6 pm. To be confirmed with the guide.
Depending on the season, hotel availability or the number of people registered (and their riding level), some constraints may require the guide to change the routes and/or overnight stops. The guide alone decides what is needed to keep to the timing, make the most of the planned stops and ensure the overall comfort of the group. These changes cannot be disputed.

PREPARING YOUR MOTORCYCLE TOUR OF SARDINIA: THE GUIDE'S TIPS
From inland to the sea, Sardinia by motorcycle offers deserted mountain roads and wild coastlines. Here is our guide's advice for preparing this guided motorcycle tour. It complements the briefing your qualified guide gives every morning before setting off.
Prepare for the ferry crossing
The motorcycle stays in the hold during the crossing. Pack a small bag for the night on board and arrive at boarding with time to spare.
Stay alert in the hinterland
Winding roads, free-roaming goats and cows, sometimes uneven surfaces: the Sardinian hinterland is best discovered by reading the road far ahead.
Protect yourself from the sun
The Mediterranean sun is intense, even in spring. Ventilated gear, sunscreen and water at every break are a must.
