We are #ROULEURS – riders at heart. The #MONKEYPRORIDER tour concept is all about riding, bends and scenery. We make very few visits to castles, museums or heritage sites... Make sure you can ride about 300 to 400 km a day, several days in a row. Our pace and riding method allow most riders to take part, but too low a riding level could hold the group back and make it difficult to finish the stages in a reasonable time.

A first for me with Monkeyprorider: I rode the Route des Grandes Alpes in August and can only congratulate the organisation – a superb job on the routes, the accommodation and a great atmosphere, and above all a maestro, Thierry, as our guide. A superb experience and surely one of my best trips. (translated from French)
ANDRÉ M. ★★★★★ - Google review - 12 August 2025 -

START OF THE CROSSING - 6 days - North of the country
A half-day to get to know the motorcycles, with a few exercises around the accommodation to get used to the different surfaces. The coach / guide gives a few tips and everyone shares their experience. We set off in the afternoon, heading for the Lompoul desert in the north of the country. The following days take us north, near the Mauritanian border. Completely different landscapes and wide plains below Podor. Back via Thiès, with a stop on the Petite Côte near Saly, the seaside resort best known to Europeans.
DAY 7 - REST
CONTINUING THE CROSSING - 4 days - Towards the Gambia
We leave the Petite Côte for the Sine Saloum – a chance to cross the Fatick marshes and discover the variety of Senegal's landscapes. A few points of interest, such as the sacred baobab, are on the route. A visit to the oldest kapok tree in Africa and an organised fishing day in the bolongs (mangrove channels) near Toubacouta.
RETURN TRANSFER - 2 days
We leave the motorcycles and take a bush taxi. A must-stop in Kaolack and its giant market: a city with an African rhythm, with everything that implies!! A total immersion. Back near M'Bour to wait for the flight home.

PREPARING YOUR SENEGAL MOTORCYCLE TOUR: THE GUIDE'S TIPS
Tarmac, sand and laterite, welcoming villages and the famous Senegalese teranga (hospitality): this motorcycle road trip in Senegal is above all a human adventure. Here is our advice for preparing it. It complements the briefing your qualified guide gives every morning before setting off.
Learn to ride on sand and laterite
Standing on the footpegs, looking far ahead, steady throttle: these are the three reflexes that get you through sandy sections. On laterite, dust reduces visibility, so keep your distance.
Plan for health and formalities
Valid passport, recommended vaccinations and treatments: consult your doctor or a travel vaccination centre several weeks before departure.
Travel light but well equipped
Heat, dust and tracks: choose ventilated gear with protection, a waterproof bag and a water bottle that you refill at every break.
