We are #ROULEURS – riders at heart. The #MONKEYPRORIDER tour concept is all about riding, bends and scenery. We make very few visits to castles, museums or heritage sites... Make sure you can ride about 250 to 300 km a day, several days in a row. Back roads only. Our pace and riding method allow most riders to take part, but too low a riding level could hold the group back and make it difficult to finish the stages in a reasonable time.

I have taken part in Sunday rides, done 2 three-day trips and 1 one-week tour. Every time everything went well: a good atmosphere, friendliness and the joy of riding all together, safely. Don't hesitate, come along, you won't be disappointed. (translated from French)

A first for me with Monkeyprorider: I rode the Route des Grandes Alpes in August and can only congratulate the organisation – a superb job on the routes, the accommodation and a great atmosphere, and above all a maestro, Thierry, as our guide. A superb experience and surely one of my best trips. (translated from French)
ANDRÉ M. ★★★★★ - Google review - 12 August 2025 -

PROGRAMME OF THE NORTHERN ITALY MOTORCYCLE TOUR
DAY 1 - 0 KM - WELCOME IN BRIANÇON
We meet in the late afternoon at the first accommodation near Briançon. The evening is a chance to get to know each other over a friendly dinner and to hold a briefing on the week ahead
DAY 2 - APPROX. 300 KM - CROSSING INTO ITALY
This first riding day takes us across the Italian border right from the start, with mountain roads as a reward. This first day is mostly flowing roads to reach the great lakes, but we'll get our share of twisty sections and views.
DAY 3 - APPROX. 311 KM - COMO, STELVIO, MERANO
This stage takes us to the heart of the matter. We start with a ride around Lake Como, then head for the peaks of the Alps. To eat up the kilometres, we take some fast roads. Then we arrive straight at the climb of the Stelvio. Once this legendary challenge is behind us, we take a few more hairpins and descend to Merano.
DAY 4 - APPROX. 275 KM - JAUFENPASS AND THE DOLOMITES
We make the most of the mountains to string passes together, riding over the Jaufenpass. From valleys to passes, we head for the Dolomites. So as not to miss anything of this extraordinary landscape, we ride all the way around the massif. Then we reach our accommodation a little further north.
DAY 5 - APPROX. 265 KM - PASSO SAN BOLDO, HEADING FOR VENICE
A few passes on today's programme, as well as some hairpins. We gradually come down from the mountains, riding the famous "Passo San Boldo" and its hairpins in tunnels. Then on to Venice, where we stay for 2 nights
DAY 6 - 0 KM - REST DAY IN VENICE
A well-deserved rest and, above all, a day off / free time to visit Venice. The Murano glassworks, the canals and the little bridges... so much to see in one day. We meet again in the evening for dinner.
DAY 7 - APPROX. 275 KM - HEADING FOR TUSCANY
A great day of riding, with a link section and a seafront section, before we turn west towards Tuscany. We head to Florence, the most romantic city in Italy, where we stay for 2 nights.
DAY 8 - APPROX. 100 KM - TUSCANY AND FLORENCE
A short morning ride to discover the Tuscan landscapes, passing through a few picturesque little villages. The afternoon is free to stroll around and visit Florence. We meet again in the evening for dinner.
DAY 9 - APPROX. 125 KM - PISA
A short link ride to Pisa, which keeps us busy until early afternoon. The rest of the day is free time for photos and a visit to the leaning tower.
DAY 10 - APPROX. 249 KM - NORTH VIA GENOA
Back to the twisty roads! We begin our final ride north, getting closer to France. We avoid the built-up seafront and stay a little inland as far as Genoa, where we spend a night.
DAY 11 - APPROX. 290 KM - BACK TO FRANCE, MENTON
The last riding day, crossing the border at the end of the day. A day of almost 290 km that will confirm your skills as a touring rider. We settle in for our last night near Menton.
DAY 12 - 0 KM - END OF THE TOUR
We part after breakfast. The tour is over. We'll meet again on other destinations.
Depending on the season, hotel availability or the number of people registered (and their riding level), some constraints may require the guide to change the routes and/or overnight stops. The guide alone decides what is needed to keep to the timing, make the most of the planned stops and ensure the overall comfort of the group. These changes cannot be disputed.

PREPARING YOUR MOTORCYCLE TOUR OF NORTHERN ITALY: THE GUIDE'S TIPS
The great lakes, the Stelvio, the Dolomites and cities of art: the motorcycle tour of Northern Italy is a festival of passes and hairpins. Here is our guide's advice to enjoy it with peace of mind. It complements the briefing your qualified guide gives every morning before setting off.
Tackle the Stelvio hairpins
The Prato side of the Stelvio lines up dozens of numbered hairpins. Enter slowly, look towards the exit of the hairpin and feed in the throttle on the way out: precision matters more than speed.
Gear up for high mountains
In the Dolomites and on the great passes, cold and storms can catch you out. Keep a warm layer and your rain gear close at hand.
Avoid ZTL zones
Italian historic centres are often limited traffic zones (ZTL) monitored by camera. In town, follow the guide rather than your GPS.
